Ohio Bill of Sale Forms

Use this document to transfer a vehicle from one party to another. It is federal law that the odometer mileage must be stated and that the Buyer and Seller sign the form. The new owner must bring the document along with any other required forms for registration at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (See List).

Documents needed as well as the bill of sale in order to register an automobile:

• Previous owner must have the Title notarized and signed over to the buyer.
• Title/Registration Application
• Odometer Disclosure Form
• Provide proof of auto insurance
• If the vehicle is leased – Authorization to Register
• *If someone else is going to be registering or selling the vehicle on your behalf, a power of attorney document must be authorized
