Fazoli’s is a chain of Italian-style restaurants that is unique in two respects. The first was that it was founded not by an individual but by a restaurant group, Jerrico, Inc. The other distinction is their low prices, which are only just a bit more expensive than the hamburger chains, but nowhere near as high as the competing chains serving the same style of Italian food. The chain, which saw its beginnings in 1988, is now owed by Sun Capital Partners, and is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky. There are now over two hundred locations in 26 states.

The heart of this chain’s menu is the Oven-Baked Pastas, which include spaghetti or ziti loaded with marinara sauce and cheese, baked till they bubble. There is also Lasagna, Penne Romano, Chicken Carbonara, Fettuccini Alfredo, and Chicken Parmigiano. If you can’t find exactly what you want, you can build your own pasta bowl. Choose your pasta, then choose your sauce, and then add your choice of toppings like Italian meatballs, Italian sausage, asiago mushroom, roasted chicken or broccoli. Most of these specialties are available as Combos, which include a drink and either a side salad or a slice of pizza. If you can’t decide on exactly what you want, then don’t worry, and order one of the Samplers.
You’ll also find Italian-style club sandwiches, which are known here as Submarinos. One of the choices is the Fazoli’s Original, which is a hearty blend of salami, ham, Italian sausage, provolone, pepperoni, and tomatoes, with a red vinaigrette dressing. And what would an Italian restaurant be without pizza? Fazoli’s offer both full pies and double slices.
For those watching their weight, options are available that will cost you only 550 calories or less. These include pasta dishes such as the Chicken Mushroom Alfredo bake. An assortment of low calorie salads are also on the list, including the Caesar Italia, with romaine lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, bacon and mozzarella.
On Kid’s Night’s, if you buy one adult entrée you can also order two kid’s meals for $0.99 each. There are also special activities for kids that both children and parents will enjoy. There are also family meals offering choices of two pastas and your choice of toppings. You also get breadsticks, ice tea or lemonade and chocolate cookies.
If you’re hosting a business meeting, an event or a party, Fazoli’s will cater it. There is a large menu to build your feast from, and up to 24 happy eaters can be accommodated.
