According to Alabama’s Electronic Tax Return Filing Act, if a professional filer is preparing more than fifty (50) returns in one calendar year, the person must electronically file. Tax Brackets in Alabama

Individuals Married Couples
  • For earnings between $0.00 and $500, you’ll pay 2.00%
  • For earnings between $500.00 and $3,000, you’ll pay 4.00% plus $10.00
  • For earnings over $3,000.00, you’ll pay 5.00% plus $110.00
  • For earnings between $0.00 and $1,000, you’ll pay 2.00%
  • For earnings between $1,000.00 and $6,000, you’ll pay 4.00% plus $20.00
  • For earnings over $6,000.00, you’ll pay 5.00% plus $220.00

Extensions

All residents of Alabama are given an automatic six (6) months to file but payment(s) are still due on the filing date. All penalties will be subject to Statute 40-1-44 and send to the following addresses;
