The Alaska articles of incorporation allow to form a legal corporation entity in the State. The most common filing types may be completed and submitted online, but others will need to be submitted to the Secretary of State with their attached filing fees.

• Verify Name – Whenever a new entity is filed it is recommended to check and make sure the name has not been registered previously with the Secretary of State. This is the reason most applications get rejected.

How to File

Step 1 – Select Form – Depending on what type of filing you may be doing, you must select which articles of incorporation you will be filing;

• Domestic Profit – Most Common – File Online – This is for any business that will be primarily located within the State of Alaska.
• Foreign Profit – File Online – For all entities located outside the State seeking to transact business in Alaska.
• Professional – This is for a new entity that holds a special license with the State such as a medical or law office.
• Domestic NonProfit – File Online – For businesses located in the State that are running on a non profit status.
• Foreign NonProfit – File Online – For all non profit corporations located outside the State.
• Domestic Cooperative Corporation
• Foreign Cooperative Corporation

Step 2 – Pay and Mail – If you have decided to form the corporation online you will pay the fee at the end of the session. Otherwise, check to see on the top of the first page of the articles to see the amount. Make payable via check to the Alaska Secretary of State and send to the address below;
