Apply for a new corporation by filling out the Arkansas articles of incorporation forms. A user may complete the application either online or through the classic paper filing with all fees being paid to the Secretary of State’s office.

• Check Your Entity Name – Make sure the name you select has not been previously reserved with the State. Verify by typing in the business database and view all (if any) related listings.

Step 1 – Choose Type – Select the type of corporation the applicant would like to form with the Arkansas Secretary of State;

• Most Popular – Domestic Profit – Apply Online – For most standard corporations to be located in within the State.
• Domestic Non Profit – Apply Online – For corporations that are seeking non profit tax status.
• Foreign Profit – Apply Online – Also known as the ‘Certificate of Authority’, for entities located outside the State seeking to conduct financial activity within Arkansas.
• Foreign Non Profit – Apply Online – All non profit corporations located outside of Arkansas looking to conduct financial affairs in Arkansas.

Step 2 – Pay Fee – If you have applied online there will be instructions on how to pay with a credit card at the end of the session. If forming through the paper application a check will need to be made payable to the Arkansas Secretary of State. The filing fees are provided below;

• Domestic Profit – $50
• Domestic Non Profit – $50
• Foreign Profit – $300
• Foreign Non Profit – $300

Tips

• Employer Identification Number (EIN) Application – This is a form that allows a new corporation to participate in financial activity, open bank accounts, and apply for credit cards. It can be obtained from the IRS through a paper filing or by filling out the document online. The number works much like a Social Security number is for personal use, an EIN is used for entities.
• Corporate Bylaws – This form allows a corporation to set rules, in relation to ownership and business duties, day-to-day activities, business purpose, and any other conditions the shareholders view the entity should operate under.
