The checklist, also known as CBDL, is a very commonly used method of the identification of children with behavioral issues. There are two versions available for testing children, pre-school and school aged testing. Problems will be identified by parents or whomever may be caring for the child. There are also sheets that will be provided for teachers to help identify issues that may be occurring while the child is away from the family and in the classroom setting.
There will be a range of questions for each addressing syndromes and passive or even aggressive behaviors. Once the sheets have been returned to the psychologist or psychiatrist, the child can be properly diagnosed and treated.
It’s said that there are pro’s and con’s to the checklist, regardless it is likely to be required by mental health professionals to assist them in proper diagnosis and treatment.
