Fatburger is a casual hamburger restaurant founded in 1947 by entrepreneur Lovie Yancey. Originally local to Los Angeles, there are now over 120 locations throughout the US and the world. One of the chain’s many claims to fame was its frequent mention as a place to go for a burger by the characters in the hit TV show Sanford and Son. By the 1980’s this Los Angeles icon was know as “The Last Great Hamburger Stand”. Early on, Ms. Yancy bought out her original partners and ran the chain until 1990, at which point she only kept the original location on Western Avenue to run herself. The restaurant chain is now owned and operated by the Fog Cutter Capital Group.

About the Menu
The music never stops at each one of this iconic chain’s locations, with the jukebox blasting classical soul, hip-hop, R&B or rock’n’roll. The main offering is the Fatburger itself; cooked to order from never frozen, fresh, lean meat. There are five sizes, ranging from small to XXXL, with latter weighing in at a fat 24 ounces.
Not in the mood for a burger today? There are other entrée choices available, including the Turkeyburger, the Veggieburger, and three types chicken sandwiches, including the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and the Cajun Chicken Sandwich. There are also Sausage & Egg sandwiches and Bacon & Egg sandwiches, Hot Dogs and Chili Dogs. You can also have a Chicken Strips meal or the famous Fat Salad.
If you’d like to fatten up your Fatburger, or any of the other entrees, try one of the Add-Ons. There’s chili, bacon, guacamole, grilled mushrooms, three different types of cheeses, and even an egg. You can also include grilled onions, peppers or even jalapenos. Patrons who like sides with their burgers will want to eat up the Big Fat Deal. You get either Fatburger’s famous Fat Fries or their equally renowned Skinny Fries, and also a drink to accompany your burger. Other side dishes include onion rings and a chili cup. You can top off your meal, and satisfy your sweet tooth with a shake. Flavor choices are chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, along with Maui-Banana and Cookies & Ice Cream.
