The Salon Booth lease agreement allows a person, usually a hair stylist, to use a booth at a hair salon or spa as an independent contractor. Rent is usually paid on a weekly basis in the beginning and then be turned into a formal month to month once seniority has been established.
The owner may setup the agreement in two main ways;
1. Base plus Percentage – If the salon is an established business the owner will typically want to charge a base rent plus a commission or percentage of the individual’s gross earnings minus tips.
2. Base Rent – The owner only charges the individual a fixed payment and allows any and all income produced from the booth to be kept by the lessee. This is common for individuals with experience or for a salon that is just starting out.
