A security deposit receipt is a form that states the amount of money a tenant has put up at the beginning of a lease as a commitment in the chance of non-payment of rent or damage made on the premises. The amount is usually stated in the lease agreement between the landlord and tenant but this form acknowledges the landlord receiving the funds especially if the money is transferred via cash.

The tenant will receive this money back at the end of the lease term and the exact time-frame depends on the State laws.
