Idaho Bill of Sale Forms

Use to transfer an automobile from one owner to another. Both buyer and seller must sign the document and verify the details of the transaction. The new owner must return it along with the application for registration and title to the county assessor’s motor vehicle office to complete within thirty (30) days (find nearest).

How to Register a Car in Idaho

  • If it is a used vehicle, the new owner will need to have the seller transfer the title with their signature on the form. It is required that the odometer must be detailed on the title.
  • Completed bill of sale
  • Vehicle ID number inspection to be completed. Can be done by a DMV employee and most mechanics
  • 6% of the sales price. If the car was traded in then the difference as long as it was sold within a three (3) month time period
  • $14 title fee
