The Alaska notary public forms allow an individual to apply through the State Lieutenant to serve the public as an unbiased and impartial witness, with duties as prescribed by the laws of the state. The State doesn’t currently require testing or training. However, it does recommend that anyone who wishes to become a notary, obtain training.

- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be a resident of the state of Alaska, defined as one who maintains a home and is, in fact, living inside the state, (provable with proper state identification).
- Must have a surety bond of $1000.00
How to Become a Notary
Step 1 – Bond – You must first acquire your notary bond of at least $1000.00. In Alaska, the bond document is part of the application process and must be present with the application for consideration.
Step 2 – Application – Complete your application. Enclose all of your application documents along with your bond document and the application fees in the amount of $40 payable to the “State of Alaska”. If you choose to pay by credit card, please complete the Credit Card Payment Form above and enclose that as well.
Step 3 – Submission of Application – Send your documents to:

Step 4 – Acquire Notary Stamp and Supplies – Once you’ve been contacted by the Lt. Governor and have received your information for commission, you will then contact any of the companies that offer the sales of notary seals or stamps and supplies:
