The college checklist for most people will be the first time they live on their own, so many of them will not know exactly what to bring with them. Although packing for college is not hard, there is a little specialization involved, and using a college checklist can help a lot.

There are certain items you can buy locally to avoid traveling with them in a car. For example, it’s not hard to find a decent desk, table, and chairs locally, and you might even be moving into a dorm or a house that’s furnished. It’s also smart to communicate with any roommates beforehand to avoid bringing duplicate items, such as living room and kitchen items you all will share. You probably won’t need three coffeemakers.
