Hawaii power of attorney allows for a person to make financial or medical decisions on someone else’s behalf. It is recommended that the person be a trusted individual as the Agent will be able to make any type of monetary decision. The health care decisions will only be made if the Principal cannot speak for themselves. For more information read the State law Chapter 551 Uniform Power of Attorney Act.

- General Durable (Financial) – Elect someone to have the unlimited financial power to make any monetary decision on your behalf. There is no limit to what your agent may do as long as it is to your benefit and all proceeds must go to you. It must be authorized in front of a notary public in order to be legal and may only be voided upon death or revocation.
- Medical – Use this document to transfer unlimited health care decision making to someone else in the situation where you cannot speak for yourself. The agent you select will be able to make any type of medical decision on your behalf or as instructed when filling in. See Statute
- Tax (N-848) – Use this to allow a person to handle your tax filing in Hawaii on your behalf. Be sure to hire a credible person as any errors will be your responsibility. It is recommended that a Certified Public Accountant or tax lawyer be your best choice.
- Motor Vehicle – Select someone to handle any and all vehicle related matters located within the State. Often times in Hawaii, residents that reside outside the State will need registration, title, and the possibility of selling the vehicle on their behalf. This may be done by completing this form and granting someone the power to do so.
