The Illinois articles of organization is a form provided by the Secretary of State to allow applicants to create an LLC. There is a filing fee (*Non-Series $500 and Series $750) which may be paid and processed online or via the standard paper application when mailing to the State. *When filing online there is an expedited fee of $100 added.

How to File
Step 1 – Choose your filing method;
- Option 1 – Form an LLC Online – To file online there will be an extra $100 fee added as it will be expedited automatically.
- Option 2 – Download the articles of organization forms that apply to the entity you are creating;
Step 2 – Pay fee;
- Domestic – $500
- Domestic Series – $750
- Foreign – $500
- Foreign Series – $750
If you choose to go the paper filing route, attach a check payable to the ‘Illinois Secretary of State’ and send to the following address:
