Use the Iowa bill of sale documents to convey the ownership of an automobile, boat, all terrain vehicle (ATV), or any other type of vehicle from one party to another. Only the seller must sign and he or she must do so in the presence of a notary public for a vehicle.

Register a Car in Iowa

The new owner will need to bring the following to their local Iowa Department of Transportation office;

• Completed bill of sale
• Odometer disclosure statement
• Damage disclosure form
• Application for registration and title
• Vehicle transaction certificate
• A blank check to for the fees involved.
