Download the Michigan Bill of Sale forms to transfer the ownership of a vehicle, trailer, boat, ATV, or snowmobile located within the State. It is recommended that each party (buyer and seller) keep a copy for his or her record keeping and the new owner must bring an original for title and registration.

How to Register a Vehicle

The buyer will need to bring the following documents to the local Secretary of State branch office (Find here).

• Completed vehicle bill of sale including the odometer disclosure
• Proof of auto insurance
• Registration Application
• Title transferred from seller – If you have to apply use the application
