Extensions
There is no automatic extension in North Dakota. You must have good cause to request a North Dakota extension. You may acquire an extension of time to file your ND individual income tax return by completing either a federal extension or by filing North Dakota extension Form 101. In the event you do not obtain a federal extension, you may apply for a North Dakota extension. Form 101 must be postmarked on or before the due date of your tax return. You will then be notified as to whether your extension request is approved or denied.
