Guacamole is a type of dish that is served made up of avocados mixed with spices depending on the maker or chef’s taste. The versions listed are from the four most popular types which can be made in 10 to 15 minutes using basic ingredients. Depending on the recipe, it is best to use one avocado for every person of your party.

How to Prepare

Step 1 – It is best to cut the avocado in half and take out the pit.

Step 2 – Then you will want to scoop the avocado out using the skin as a bowl. If it is ripe enough, you can scoop out with a spoon and place into a bowl.

Step 3 – Depending on how chunky you like your guacamole, you may choose one of the following ways to mash;

  • Potato Masher
  • Pastry Blender
  • Or for a Purée you can use a standard blender

If you do not have one of the above items at your disposal, you may use a fork or spoon and mash at your discretion.

Step 4 – Add other ingredients to your base.

    • 1 tomato – dice

    • 1/2 a white onion, chopped
    • Salt

    • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice or limes squeezed to desire
    • 1/4 cup of minced red onion
    • 1 or 2 serrano chiles depending on the taster’s level of spiciness. Remove seeds for better digestion
    • Dash of black pepper
    • 1/2 tomato
