As expected one can apply for a job at Walmart online. They have an extensive career section on their site with a respectable amount of search options and areas to apply for. It will be necessary to create an online profile with this company in order to apply for a position. One can apply for a job online at Walmart. Here there will be a ‘careers’ link located near the bottom left of the page. This link will direct the browser to the career section of the site which will have a drop down menu of various categories and a search box to find available openings. The drop down menu will enable one to search in a particular area, i.e. corporate jobs while the search box area will focus on keywords and contain a link for hourly store jobs. Applicants may search for available openings but must login to apply for positions.
Once an applicant finds a job they would like to apply for they merely need to click that link. The browser will direct to a job description which will give the options to apply online, send to a friend, or save to job cart. If one has not created a profile at this point and logged in, the site will direct the browser to the profile creation page. This will consist of creating a username and password, and provide equal opportunity background information (i.e. gender, age, and ethnicity). One may choose to not provide ethnicity but must provide the other pieces of information. After this, the applicant will be given an opportunity to provide a resume and cover letter. The applicant will need to provide personal information, minimum qualifications, education, employment history, and must answer some additional questions before submitting their application.
