The move in/move out checklist is used for the arrival and departure for a residential unit to help protect the tenant’s deposit from being wrongfully accused for damage that already exists. It is recommended that the tenant upon move in make a careful analysis of the premises and make note on the form of any repairs that are needed. The landlord will verify the claims and at the end of the inspection and both parties will sign the form.

At the end of the lease term or upon the tenant’s move out, both parties will examine the property once again and look for any new damage. Any new defects or repairs needed will be deducted from the Security Deposit on file with the landlord.
