The Radio Shack job application is for the company that was originally founded in 1921, in Boston, to service radio officers in the marine trade. It quickly grew and expanded to include mail order electronics sales. It was then acquired by the Tandy Corp in 1963. The chain continued to gain popularity as it grew with the times’ technology and continually expanded its selection as the years progressed. Then in 2000 the Tandy Corporation changed its name to Radio Shack Corp. This certainly shows Radio Shack’s stability and today, there are over 5000 locations worldwide and with 27,000 employed as associates. Understandably so, Radio Shack is one of the more sought after companies by job seekers.

How to Apply

Applicants seeking positions may do so online by going to the company’s website, www.radioshack.com, and selecting the careers link in the bottom right hand corner of the page. This will open a new page with an introduction on working for Radio Shack and several link options under the job opportunities section; Multi-Unit Retail Management, Store Management, Assistant Store Management, and Sales Associate which accompany a search job field for quicker access.

If an applicant is interested in retail positions they will be able to do a search according to zip code on the next page and specify how far they are willing to travel outside of that zip code. A list may be presented, each with a checkbox. Candidates may check off all the locations they are interested in before continuing to the next step. The following page will list the available positions for the locations that the applicant previously selected. In order to proceed pop-up windows must be allowed from this site. If they are not the applicant will be prompted to allow pop-up windows so a registration form may open.

Here an applicant may set up a profile so that they may apply for positions with this company. The candidate will need to provide contact information, a log in and password, then will need to answer several questions about their status. Applicants will also be able to upload a resume if they desire. The next page will be a full application for a Radio Shack. This will be concluded with a check box to e-verify. It is important to note that the applicant must double check their answers since they will be unable to go back to change any answers once they submit the application online.

Applicants interested in corporate positions will undergo a similar process however instead of a full application they may upload a resume and cover letter to express his/her interest in particular position.
