How to File
Step 1 – Fill-in – Complete the form that best fits what you are trying to create
Step 2 – Filing Fee – An applicant must pay the filing fee that is associated with the type of form he or she will be filing:
- Domestic Profit (Most Common) – $125
- Foreign Profit – $250
- Domestic Non-Profit – $60
- Foreign Non-Profit – $125
- Domestic Professional – $125
- Foreign Professional – $250
All fees must be made payable to the North Carolina Secretary of State.
Step 3 – Mail – Gather the completed document along with the filing fee and send to:

Tips
- Apply for an EIN – If you are going to be setting up a bank account for this entity, it is a good idea to get a tax ID number from the IRS. It is free and takes about ten (10) minutes if you apply online.
